This year, we had a bee professional who not only helped us on Earth Day, but he’s also now going to help us with our ongoing pollination program. Not only does this day impact future generations by increasing education and awareness about nature and the earth, but we also have the opportunity to reach out for more volunteers. We are very grateful to those who share their experiences and give their time to make our Earth Day event a success. This year, as in years past, we receive overwhelming support from our community and it’s with their help that the event continues to flourish. Feedback from attendees indicates that our goal of increasing awareness and educating people was met.Įvents like this are gratifying for all involved, including our very supportive community. Throughout the day, people of all ages enjoyed activities like making several types of bird feeders, creating a fairy garden from recycled items, and learning to fly fish. While the target audience for this event was children, adults also enjoyed the activities. With over 20 education-themed booths, attendees participated in activities ranging from up-cycling items, interacting closely with nature and of course, learning all about the creatures that we all live among. The event was a great success attended by hundreds of people. In addition to inviting the public to tour our state-of-the-art visitor’s center, the day was full of fun activities designed to educate children and adults on the magical aspects of nature. On April 22, 2023, Mammoth Spring National Fish Hatchery (MSNFH) didn’t just have a good day, it was a GREAT day! This was the day to enlighten people on the value of taking care of our planet as part of a global event that is celebrated by 193 countries around the world, called Earth Day.
